Nuclear Flask Transporter – British Nuclear Fuels
Design, manufacture, shop test of Flatrol wagon, haulage drive unit, rope tensioners, encast track – Flatrol payload gross laden weight 80 tonnes, overall length 10.54m length. Haulage system with haulage distance of 35,4m with a speed of 6.5m per minute.

Nuclear Storage Doors – BNFL Sellafield, Box Encapsulation Plant (BEP)
DavyMarkham in joint partnership with KAT Nuclear designed and manufactured a shield door for use in closing off the storage vaults in the Box Encapsulation Plant (BEP) at Sellafield. The door travels on pneumatic air skates activated when movement of the door by the rack and pinion drive assembly is necessary. Seismic restraints are fitted to protect the door and structure in the event of a design base earthquake.

The door was 22.770m x 4.230m x 1.730m with a weight (fabrication) of 82.867tonnes – total weight 270tonnes with a travel distance of 21.970 metres at a nominal travel speed of 1m per minute.
