New Marketing Executive Appointed To Enhance Global Positioning | |
Sheffield heavy engineering company, DavyMarkham, has appointed a new Marketing Executive to enhance communications channels with its worldwide markets and help raise the firm's international positioning. Jackie Cook, who lives in Chesterfield, previously held a similar position with leading accountants and business advisors, PKF. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, she will now oversee DavyMarkham's below-the-line activities, including events, exhibitions and internet marketing, undertake extensive supplier benchmarking, with a view to improving competitive stance, and liaise with the company's external PR consultancy.Jackie recently completed an MSc in Marketing Management at Sheffield Hallam University, having studied at Tupton Hall School and Chesterfield College, where she gained a CIM Advanced Certificate in Marketing. She worked at the Sheffield office of PKF UK for nine years, initially as a Departmental Secretary and HR Assistant, latterly as the firm's Marketing Executive for five years. In that capacity, she managed the local marketing budget, coordinated seminar programmes and customer hospitality events, produced an in-house staff newsletter and supervised the external telemarketing and PR agencies.
DavyMarkham competes globally in such markets as moving bridges, mining hoists and steel presses, with a world-class reputation for project managing every aspect of the contract, from engineering design and structural analysis, through manufacturing and assembly, to on-site installation and commissioning. Jackie Cook will familiarise herself with these and other markets, benchmark DavyMarkham against international competitors and refine existing communications with customers, architects, designers and consultants, agents and purchasing organisations. She will also produce marketing material specific to these sectors, prepare internal market reports and generally assist in tender bid preparations.
Jackie, who lives with her partner in Wingerworth, has a keen interest in F1 motor racing and rallying, as well as currently learning conversational Italian.
