Sheffield heavy engineers DavyMarkham will be showcasing its Latin American success story to business leaders at an internationally renowned networking event.Sales director, Gordon Scott has been invited to present at the 'Journey through Latin America' conference at the Royal York Hotel in North Yorkshire on 23 February 2012.The event is part of a five-day road show organised by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) which includes panel discussions, presentations and one-to-one meetings. Full story Sheffield engineering company strikes gold again 27/09/2011 Critical components from a Sheffield engineering company have arrived at a Canadian gold mine this week as part of a £10 million contract.Engineering specialist DavyMarkham, which designs and supplies large hoisting systems, won the lucrative contract to supply base metals mining company, Hudbay Minerals Inc, with three hoists for Lalor Mine Project.This is the second major Canadian project DavyMarkham has secured this year - in July the company won a £10m contract to supply drum hoists to gold producer, Goldcorp Eleonore Project, in Quebec. Full story $5.4 Million Mine Hoist Order Is DavyMarkham's First In Peru 07/05/2011 -Sheffield heavy engineering company, DavyMarkham, has secured an important $5.4 million contract for the supply of two heavy duty mining hoists to Volcan Compania Minera of Peru, the fourth largest producer of zinc and silver worldwide.The order is for production and service hoists for Volcan's latest Pique Andaychagua mining project in the Yuauli province, some 150km northeast of the Peruvian capital Lima, which will be designed for an estimated production rate of 4,000 tonnes per day from depths down to 970m.This is DavyMarkham's first contract gain in Peru, which occupies a leading position in the global production of silver, gold, lead, copper and zinc, with the potential of soon becoming the mining industry leader in Latin America, according to market experts.
